Introducing Marriage and Divorce Archives
I'm excited to introduce Marriage and Divorce Archives a new conceptual art project exploring the institution of marriage and the social, cultural, and economic structures that shape our intimate relationships.
Through photography and storytelling, Marriage and Divorce Archives examines the expectations we bring into marriage, the roles we assume, and the often-unspoken agreements that influence how we love, live, and relate to one another.
Marriage is both deeply personal and profoundly institutional. It exists at the intersection of love, law, gender, economics, tradition, and power. Yet many of its underlying assumptions remain largely unquestioned.
What happens when we begin to examine those assumptions?
Marriage and Divorce Archives invites viewers to look beyond romantic ideals and consider the larger forces shaping our most intimate experiences.
This is an evolving body of work, and I'm looking forward to sharing it as it unfolds.
Follow Marriage and Divorce Archives on Instagram @marriageanddivorcearchives for photographs, reflections, and updates from the project.
With love and deep gratitude to walk alongside you,
💜 Natasha
